Reseach and projects
COA researchers are involved in several research projects.
COA has collaborative research projects with a wide range of organizations, from companies in the energy, maritime, light metals and ICT industries. These projects are international, regional, and national oriented as well as cross-disciplinary, grounded and action-oriented. The funding of these projects are from the Norwegian Research Council, NTNU, EU as well as private companies.
NTNU
- “Work Unlimited: Identity construction in a global context” is a project funded by Working Life Research Program at the Norwegian Research Council (NFR). This project will be starting Fall 2008 and ending Fall 2011. The project will be focusing on the subjective and personal experiences of global work migrants moving across geographical and administrative boundaries in different European countries. This research will be a collaborative project involving the fields of organizational anthropology and organizational psychology located at the departments of Social Anthropology and Psychology respectively at NTNU.
- Work Organisation and Restructuring in the Knowledge Society (WORKS). This project is funded by the European Commission under its 6th Framework Programme (2005-2009) with the aim of gaining an understanding of the changes which are taking place in the organization of work as corporate structures are transformed in the context of economic globalization and rapid technological change. The project involves partners from seventeen different institutions in thirteen EU Member States and is coordinated by the Higher Institute for Labour Studies based at the Catholic University of Leuven, Belguim. - hetogo 2000 - A multi-disciplinary research and development project on productivity and enterprise development in Botswana. Key partners are SINTEF, Botswana National Productivity Centre (BNPC), and three local companies. The project takes a holistic value chain approach, whilst also drawing on the balanced scorecard and intellectual capital perspectives.
