Jens Qvortrup

PhD, Professor of Sociology

Jens Qvortrup, Magister and PhD in sociology from University of Copenhagen. Fields of interest are sociology of generations, childhood, welfare research and comparative sociology. Was among the first to engage in sociology of childhood: founding president of ISA’s section Sociology of Childhood (1988-1998); director of the pioneering study 'Childhood as a Social Phenomenon' (1987-1992), current co-editor of the journal Childhood. Has published extensively within the fields.
