Bjørn Hvinden

Dr. Philos., Professor of Sociology

Bjørn Hvinden graduated as Magister Artium (sociology) in 1977 and received his doctoral degree (Dr. Philos. in sociology) in 1992 (both from the University of Oslo). Research interests include comparative welfare policy, disability, ethnicity, food safety, social capital and European integration. He has been a visiting scholar at the Universites of Edinburgh, Umeå, Helsinki and Bremen, and senior advisor for the Research Council of Norway.
