The research group have specialist country knowledge on Angola, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. We may also offer more general knowledge on

• the definitions and the significance of different categories of forced migrants

• causes of forced displacement (war, development and environment)

• the effects of displacement on the host communities

• IDPs in complex humanitarian emergencies

• the refugee-experience, and livelihood strategies of refugees and other forced migrants

• offer lectures and seminars on forced migration at different levels and for user groups

• enhance the perspective of forced migration in geography, development studies and refugee studies

• train and supervise practitioners and academics in the field of forced migration
